ITP now includes bounce tracking protection

Post by tmonower111 »

As explained above, ITP is a site tracking prevention function that makes it impossible to distinguish cookies when crossing sites.

Additionally, a new feature called bounce tracking will be added.

Bounce tracking prevention is a method of invalidating the data that is being measured by redirecting users when they click on a link on a site .

This means that cookies will not be sent to the server, and data analysis and storage will not be possible at all.

ITP also applies to in-app web
So far, we've been focusing on browsers.

But in-app web is no exception.

An in-app WebView is a feature that displays a website czech republic telegram data within an app, and most apps other than Safari use a WebView to display websites .

Until now, ITP was only applied to the Safari app, but from now on, ITP will also be applied when browsing sites such as Google Chrome and Yahoo!

How will the iOS14 update affect the advertising industry?
iOS14 LINE AdsSo, what impact will the update to iOS14 have on the advertising industry?

Retargeting ad serving will decrease
By updating to iOS14, measures will be taken to prevent bounce tracking .

With bounce tracking measures in place, user behavior that was previously trackable will no longer be trackable at all .

Since it will no longer be possible to identify users who match the targeting you have set, the amount of ad delivery will decrease dramatically and the opportunities for delivery will also decrease.

It is no exaggeration to say that this would render retargeting ads completely useless .

Going forward, retargeting ads will likely become less and less common.

Reduced accuracy of targeted ads
This won't affect Android, but it will significantly reduce the accuracy of ad targeting for Apple users.

Since you will no longer be able to see user information or behavioral history, it will be impossible to make predictions about the future.

Conversions decrease
This does not generally apply to the entire advertising industry, but due to the impact of ITP, it will no longer be possible to measure conversions using cookies on iOS .

Furthermore, the period during which measurements can be taken is shortened, so even if measurements are possible, the time is limited.

This can be very frustrating, as even if a user clicks on your ad and then visits your website again some time later, their conversion will not be recorded .
