A game to improve your French while having fun

Post by jrineakter »

Hello! When you learn a language, you need to challenge yourself or even have a little fun, otherwise you get bored, you risk getting disgusted or even giving up. To get out of the routine, what we wanted to do today is offer you a little game. Let's go.

Thank you for joining me. Before we move on to our little game, I remind you that registrations for the Authentic French Academy are opening soon. You have a link in the description that explains how the academy will help you with all the resources, all the modules, all the videos and with all the Zoom meetings with our tutors, with me, with the rest of the team. So, you can now discover what is in this first link and join the waiting list . Thanks to the academy, you will have opportunities to practice, to speak orally.

Today, what we wanted to do is offer you something new, something different from what we usually do, namely "charades". These are simple little games, fun little games, which will help you test your vocabulary and your ability to think, to deduce in French. So, it's a great practice tool. The game is very simple, you'll see, but not always easy even for the French. So, de-stress, do it calmly, openly, serenely and think about having fun.

The idea, the goal of a charade, is to make you guess a word and this word is made up of several syllables. For each syllable, we make you guess, we give you a definition so that you guess australia whatsapp number data what the syllable is. And then, by adding the syllables together, you get a word. So, we tell you "my first is". My first, that means the first thing to guess, the first syllable. "My second is" will give you the second syllable etc. And to define the word that you have to find, we say "my whole is" and that gives you the word to find. So, you will see with the first game, the first charade, it will allow you to understand how it works.

What we're going to do is I'm going to read you the charade and you're going to pause it because it's going to take a little while. The idea is not that we're going to leave you with a blank screen for a very long time, so you're going to pause it. I'll read you the charade, you pause it, and right after, we'll give you the answer and explain it to you. We're going to do five together today. The first one is going to be to warm you up, it's going to be a little example. Do it, once again, while laughing, while having fun.

First charade. My first is the capital of Italy. My second is a vowel. My third is a river in Europe. My whole is a plant that smells good. We'll let you pause and think. The answer is rosemary. The capital of Italy, Rome; a vowel, a; the river in Europe, Rhine. Rome has Rhine, the rosemary which is the plant.
