Before we start, a little request, a little... yes, here it is, I'm asking you a favor. We're going to talk about personal development, we're going to talk about perseverance today. I would like, if you haven't done so yet, for you to go to the podcast platform that you use or to the free mobile application of Français Authentique and leave 5 stars to thank us for the work done for you, if you wish. Of course, if you don't like it, don't force yourself, really. But if you really have 30 seconds, 1 minute, do it, because it helps Français Authentique a lot. Thank you for that.
Today, we're going to talk about a subject that is close to my heart, I've talked about it a lot in the context of Authentic French, it's perseverance. Perseverance is simply setting a goal for yourself and not giving up. To persevere is to continue, not to give up. Even if what you're trying to do doesn't work, well, you continue, you don't give up. The opposite of persevering would be "giving up".
And there is this slightly hidden idea that we can all achieve anything. It is very much anchored in personal development books. We talk about it a lot in personal development, especially in American books, since there is really this thought that everything is possible, there is the American dream, so it is a philosophy that speaks to me.
I like this vision of perseverance, of saying to oman whatsapp number data yourself: "Come on, if it doesn't work, it doesn't matter. You have to do something else, you have to test something else, you have to evolve, you have to continue working, but you mustn't give up." I like this vision.
And Jim Rohn, he takes the example… so the famous American speaker and writer that I often talk about, because Jim Rohn he accompanies me in all the stages of my life, I listen to his conferences again and again. I will listen to them, I will listen to four, five, six, seven hours of Jim Rohn. Then, I will put it aside for a few months and I will always come back to it. So that's why I often quote him, because he accompanies me constantly in my life.
And he took the example of the ant. He said: "An ant, it continues either to do something". If for example, you block it... If there is an ant that advances, you block it with your foot or with an object, well the ant will try to go around, it will try to find another way to pass until it dies or until it succeeds. So he takes this example of the ant to show to what extent this can represent an example of perseverance.
