Step 8: Close the Registry Editor and reboot your computer to apply the changes. The Widgets feature should now be disabled.

Hide widgets from taskbar using settings
If you'd rather just hide widgets from the taskbar without disabling them entirely, you can do so through the Settings app. This method keeps the widget feature active but removes its icon from the taskbar. Here's how:

Step 1: Right-click an empty area on the taskbar and select Taskbar settings . Or, open the Settings app by clicking Windows key+I, click Personalization , and then select Taskbar .



Step 2: In the Taskbar settings, find the Taskbar items section and turn off the Widgets toggle .
