Hence the Keyword Difficulty (KD) metric.

This metric is a percentage (1-100%). The higher it is, the harder it will be to outrank your competitors in organic search results.

Keyword difficulty estimates how difficult it will be to organically outperform your competitors for a given keyword. You’ll find this metric as a column titled %KD in almost every Semrush report that lists keywords.

To analyze keyword difficulty in batches, you can enter up to 100 keywords at a time in the Keyword Overview report .


In addition to difficulty, this report shows a keyword’s spain telegram number database monthly volume, number of URLs in organic results, and SERP features. You can also see SERP capture and popularity trends for a keyword over the past 12 months.


With this information, you can pinpoint the best low competition keywords that are realistic to target in organic search and those that you shouldn't waste your SEO resources on (and perhaps turn to PPC instead).

Finding low competition keywords takes patience, but it pays off because you won't waste time and energy trying to achieve unrealistic ranking goals.

Another approach is competition-based keyword research; this method uses websites that are already present in the SERP as a starting point.

Instead of root keywords, you collect root websites to start your search.
