Brief history
Assistant Alice appeared relatively recently, in 2017. At first, the technology was in Yandex Browser for Android and iOS. Therefore, almost immediately, a multi-layer neural network was introduced into the technology, which loaded publicly available texts, books, articles, audio, and video.
In 2023, the developers announced that Alice had been upgraded for all devices by integrating their own development into it - the YandexGPT language neural network.
At the YandexGPT presentation, its creators reported the following facts:
The neural network was manually trained by people: psychologists, linguists, AI trainers.
The calibration of responses from the network was carried out using Yandex search technologies, which have a higher penetration rate in the Russian Internet than other search engines.
