Title rewriting has caused a lot of buzz and raises a number of questions: for example, whether the different text of the page title and the title in the excerpt in the SERP will somehow affect search rankings, or whether it is better to put the company name at the beginning or end of the title.
John Mueller says this on the SEO Office Hours broadcast (October 29, 2021):
"If the title that appears in the search results (now we call it the title link) does not match the title of your page, from our point of view it is not a big deal, it is absolutely fine.
And when it comes to search, we use what you sweden email list have on the page. It is that what you put in the title tag, we may display, we may modify it a little.
But the main thing for ranking and ranking in search results is your page."

Mueller also stated that the title tag is a "tiny ranking factor" and that when writing it, you need to focus on making it relevant to the content of the page. Many SEO specialists will probably disagree with this, because for them it is still true that the title tag is an important element of so-called on-page optimization (on-page SEO). Sara Taher examined 645 page titles that appeared on page 1 of Google Search.
- Of the 645 titles displayed in the SERP, only 79 (12%) were longer than 60 characters, with a maximum length of 68 characters.
- The most common length of SERP titles from the sample above was 58-60 characters .
