LThe well-known music production company that has high-calibre artists such as Taylor Swift, Rosalía and Ariana Grande under its wing has not reached an agreement with ByteDance , TikTok's parent company. After the end of its contract on January 31, 2024, Universal Music Group will withdraw all its musical production from the vertical video app.

"TikTok tried to intimidate us ," Universal said in a press release issued on January 30, explaining the main reasons for breaking the agreement with the Chinese-based app.
