Extra: Mini Ikigai Test
You followed the exercises, answered the questions, filled out the chart and you managed to find your Ikigai. How can you be sure it's the right one?
The short answer is: your heart will tell you.
However, if you have any doubts, you can take this quick Ikigai test.
Keep in mind the Ikigai you have found, and ask yourself the following questions:
Does it instill a sense of energy and positivity?
Does it make you more active and excited?
Does it make you feel motivated?
Does this sound like a good reason to get up every morning?
Does your heart tell you it's the right thing?
Does it make you feel comfortable?
Does it satisfy you?
Does it have a positive effect on the environment or the people around you?
Do you think you can always talk about it with enthusiasm?
Important: You do not have to answer yes to all of these questions. At the same time, if you answered yes to most of these questions, congratulations. You have found your Ikigai! Whether it’s a big canada email list presentation, an event you’ve been asked to speak at, or a question at a conference, it’s your turn: they pass you the microphone and all eyes are on you. It’s time to wow them all.
And instead you...go into a panic. Panic invades you, and you can't utter a word, you forget what you had to say or maybe you stammer.
Terrible, isn't it? I bet your hands are sweating just imagining this scene.
If you're like most people on this planet, the idea of public speaking makes you uncomfortable. It can range from mild discomfort to outright terror, but it's there.
It's normal, and while the degree of annoyance varies from person to person, we all have this type of reaction to public speaking in common.
Over time (and after many conferences) I understood that that unpleasant feeling that accompanies every event is actually a strength, my brain pushing down through my body a rush of adrenaline useful to give the best of myself in the performance, if I could control it.
