Describe your business model to them and leave the rest of the preparation phase to them . This way you can make sure that the agency understands you. Sometimes only two meetings are enough - in one you present your goals and expectations, in the second the agency presents you with proposed solutions.

The 1st SOS agency mainly employs immigrants from Mexico and Latin America. It turns out that many of them only speak broken English, so the website needs to be simple and clear, as they don't understand some words.

How to prepare a website step 2
When an agency presents you with a pre-launch, ask how the proposed solution meets your goals. The most common question we heard was, “Hey guys, can’t it be done easier?”

That's why we designed the perfect form for job seekers together . In the Czech Republic, this would be a real user hell. In our case, however, this form serves the purpose perfectly. It is structured very similarly to the visa business owner database application that all immigrants have filled out and are familiar with. It is often the only formal document they have filled out in English. For our users, it is clear , understandable, and the large volume of data is not an obstacle for them .

Forget about general rules, only what the user appreciates is right.

For wireframes, graphics, texts and technical solutions, remind yourself of the goals and look at the solution through the eyes of your users. For communication set up like this to work, you must trust the professional experience of your agency and give up precise control . Otherwise, you will not save work.

One more secret tip: appreciate the good work of the agency, it keeps them motivated and it costs you nothing.

How to prepare a website - step 3Continuously monitor sub-goals, deadlines and possibly budget. Believe me, it is not necessary to meet in person for everything. We met with Peter or his colleagues 5 times:
At the first meeting, they presented their project, goals, and we discussed the terms of cooperation.
On the second, we discussed our questions and clarified ambiguities within the business model.
On the third day, we already presented the initial proposals.
At the fourth meeting, we presented the marketing strategy, structure, and sketches.
At the last meeting, we clarified the details, submitted the project preparation, and started creating the website.
Note: The creation of the entire website itself was then managed without a single meeting, approval via email was sufficient, and the final step of launching the website was handled via Skype.

When redesigning, it is necessary to find a quality agency that you can rely on. How to choose such an agency was presented at WebExpo by Jan Kvasnička and Jan Řezáč . Make sure you understand what you need from the website. To verify that there is no misunderstanding, let the agency propose a solution. Then simply trust your choice and just check whether the partial results match the goals.
