An embarrassing email and miserable marketing
I’ll tell you what the principle is in a moment.
Before I do that, I would like to show you an email that explains the whole problem.
An email that went completely wrong.
I received this email a few days ago:
Why your marketing isn't working.
This email already shows the following things through its wording:
“On behalf of my client” -> I don’t want to deal with you. I’m only doing this for money.
“I am very interested…” -> I am desperate.
“Place a link” -> use your ranking for my purposes.
Dear Daniela has therefore not understood the crucial principle.
The most important principle in marketing is:
First give, then take.
First sow, then reap.
Simple, right?
But as you can see from the email, most people still don't understand it.
To clarify: Daniela is chile telegram screening not the only one.
I get emails like this all the time.
Full of “me, me, me”.
Full of self-interest – without considering myself and my advantage.
How to do it right
Real marketing doesn’t start with asking, but with giving.
What could this look like in concrete terms?
This is how I did it recently:
I shared another blogger's article on my Facebook page.
I told the blogger.
I didn't ask for anything in return. It was purely a favor.
I told her so she could see my “favor.”
A few weeks later I published an article.
And asked her to share the article on Facebook.
She shared it. And she was happy to do so.
