Industrial designer Holly Grounds has created a packaging for instant noodles that dissolves when exposed to hot water and turns into a sauce.

Grounds made the film from an edible, tasteless, starch-based bioplastic. The film doesn't affect the taste or texture of the noodles, the designer says.

According to Grounds, there is more plastic in the packaging of instant noodles than in the product itself — in addition to the main packaging, there are also plastic bags with spices.

Dissolvable packaging will help reduce plastic use: the austria number data seasoning is added to the film itself during the production stage, the designer explained.

"The ingredients are mixed and heated until the mixture reaches the desired consistency. After that, spices and flavorings are added, then it is poured into a mold to settle for 24 hours," Grounds said.

After that, the noodles are divided into several portions, wrapped in airtight film, and packed in a wax-coated paper bag.

will also reduce food waste. For example, the soluble film can be used for portion packaging of rice or pasta.

In addition, noodles in a soluble film cook a minute faster than those packaged in a standard plastic bag - they don't need to be opened for a long time, Rounds found.
