Semrush Backlinks Update 2021: What’s New?

Backlink data is a core part of our SEO platform and one of the top queries we’ve heard from our users over the years. So what did we do?
We listened, invested and got to work.
It took over 30,000 hours of engineering and data scientist time, adding over 500 new servers, and setting up 14,000 TB of storage to create a brand new backlink analysis tool.

After eighteen months of tireless work by our engineers, we have moved our backlink system to a completely new architecture.
