Paid social media advertising

Post by Mitu100@ »

As you know, you can advertise on Facebook. In fact, unless you already have an active following in the four-figure range and/or a Facebook group, you can hardly avoid paying to gain reach and exposure.

Unfortunately, Facebook Ads is not that easy and if you have no experience with it, you should be prepared to pay the price. Either by finding a hopefully good course or consultant, or by systematically placing ads yourself and accepting that you will "burn" a lot of money in the process. At this point, just one tip: don't touch the "promote post" button!

In addition to Facebook, there are of course also advertising opportunities on Linkedin, XING , Pinterest, Twitter and, above all, YouTube.

What they all have in common is that you need a strategy and a funnel to really benefit from the ads.

Email marketing or newsletter marketing
You will soon hear that "the money is in the list". This means that you will come across the topic of newsletter marketing. Attracting and retaining customers by writing emails may sound a bit old-fashioned (what is social media for?), but it is still one of the truly sustainable and effective methods in online marketing. Above all, one in which you - just like in content marketing - retain control over your own content and, above all, control over your prospect and customer data (known in technical terms as "leads").

Because as nice as all the followers and fans on social media are - and as flattering as the numbers increase from three to four or even five digits or more - this data does not belong to you, but to the operators of the channels. It can quickly be lost again if, for example, your account is blocked.

This is not the case with your own newsletter list. If the social media channels use their algorithms to thwart your organic (i.e. unpaid) reach, you can write to your newsletter subscribers as often as you like. At least in theory.
