what ismarketing? Definition and tasks

Post by Mitu100@ »

Everyone knows the term marketing and you also know that you need a suitable marketing strategy for a successful company. But what is marketing and what does the term mean? Of course, advertising is part of it, but ordering pens with your own logo or booking TV advertising at random and without a plan will cost a lot and otherwise fizzle out ineffectively. Marketing is much more than shouting your own logo out into the world. Good marketing is primarily targeted - and clever.

What is Marketing? A Definition
First of all, quite dryly: The term marketing describes the business area that is responsible for the following two main tasks:

Marketing your offer and publicising your company (advertising, external representation, PR, etc.)

1. Marketing & Publicity
So let's start with the first point of the marketing definition, marketing and publicity: Without appropriate marketing measures, the awareness of your company cannot increase and if nobody knows about your company, no money will flow.

In addition to traditional advertising measures such as poster and flyer campaigns that you use to promote your products or services, it is above all about highlighting one thing: your unique selling proposition (USP) . You have to show what advantage your product or service offers your customers over the competition. What makes you unique?

The best service? The best price? If you do not differentiate yourself from the competition, you will miss out on countless customers. But just knowing what your unique selling proposition is is not enough. You also have to make all of this known to the right people - your target group . This includes the people who you see as having great potential for a future purchase. You should then make your product or company known to precisely these people.
