Content calendar

Here's what the process of creating new content looks like now:

I'm thinking of a topic for an article
I analyze competitors' articles on this topic
I am making a plan for an article
I am writing
I do formatting, add lists, make sure the blocks are normal
Looking for pictures/cutting screenshots/gifs
I am doing cross-linking in the article
I assemble a miniature picture in Photoshop
I am publishing on the website
I publish on social networks
As you can see, the process of creating one entry on the site consists of ten microprocesses, of which only the fourth I cannot delegate. It turns out that if I outsource 9 processes out of 10, I will be able to write more, because I will have a lot of free time.

This point is a real pain for me. Not only do you need to make a clear calendar of posts, but you also need to follow it.

In general, as experts in the field of content marketing write, a clear content plan and a calendar of posts increases productivity and increases the amount of content released. Now I have a content plan for 155 articles and I have not written even one fifth of its potential. But I feel this plan is not enough for full-fledged work, so let's make a calendar of posts.

First, you need to decide where to keep this calendar. Google exploring the social and economic impact of chinese canadians in canada immediately comes to mind, but I don’t really like it. However, I like working with Trello and am ready to keep track of content there.

Create an empty board and line it with columns that you will need. I did not divide it into all 10 columns, these six will be enough for me.

So, what I did was, first of all, move some of the articles that I would be most interested in writing to Trello into the "Article Topics" column. I added a category label to each of them (green, meaning SEO), and also set the dates on which I should publish these posts.

If you switch the view to the calendar, you get the following calendar of content on the site:

All that remains is to see how well a calendar like this will motivate me to write regular content.

Long term planning
What is better, to come up with new topics every week or to work according to a pre-made plan for a whole year? Of course, the second option.

You should create a content plan that you can follow for a very long time and not worry about "what should I write tomorrow". Yes, it will be much more difficult and take longer to create than you are used to, but it is better to do it once.

For example, we planned to publish one post every three days. It turns out that we will publish only 121 articles per year. Not as many as we would like, but not as few as it would be without a clear plan. By the way, before we compiled it, we published 1 post once a week somewhere.
