New modules in Google Analytics

Post by suchona.kani.z »

Google Analytics added two new useful modules last week. The first module is called Active Users and the second is Group Analysis . Let's take a look at how this new data can help you.

The active users module is now much clearer
You have always been able to use this module in Google Analytics. The new feature is that it is now much clearer, and it has also been renamed according to active users . In the module, you can segment unique customers and target your advertising to them . Unique visitor cycles are divided into time units such as: day, week, 14 days and month. This feature looks like a new feature in Google Analytics, but in fact it is just a modified and moved feature that was previously located in the Acquisition section.

Group analysis: track returning users
Cohort analytics or group analysis can be found in the Target Audience section .

How do cohorts work? In the first column, you can set a specific ig database time period (day, week, month) that will show you how many unique visitors visited your website in that period. In the other columns, you can see how many visitors returned to your website in the following time period.

Cohorts can be set according to:

– size of the defined group (day, week, month)

– metrics (visits, sales, transactions and other functions)

– period (up to 3 months)

How to use the obtained data?
The data is useful for monitoring the shopping process, you can immediately see whether customers are returning to your website and in what time period. This information is a source of important information only for some e-shops where the shopping process plays an important role.

An example would be an online store selling baby diapers. For this product, you can see that customers usually return after 5 weeks. Monitor data in Google Analytics and try to understand user behavior, which you can sort into individual user groups using group analysis.

The module is not interesting for everyone
The modules are very specific in their use and are certainly not interesting for everyone. Cohort creation was not easy to use in the past in Google Analytics. If you already have the ability to track data in your Analytics thanks to the above modules, be sure to try it out, or share your experiences with this new feature from Analytics with us.
